Afternoon:2 PM the King gave his orders for what he was going to do that afternoon. If his orders were for a promenade, it would be in the garden, is would either be on foot or in a carriage with the ladies. If his orders were to hunt, his favorite spot the Bourbons, it took place in the grounds where the King preferred to shoot or in the surrounding woodland area if he rode to the hounds. 6 PM King Louis would sign many letters prepared by his secretary and then go to the apartment of Madame de Maintenon where he would study an important dossier aided by one his secretaries of state.
